4th International Festival of Shanty Choirs SHANTYFEST 2011 was held in Prague in June 2011 and it was again a big success. Prague citizens and its visitors had the opportunity to listen and to enjoy beautiful shanty songs at the most attractive places in the heart of Prague - Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square and Wallenstein garden. Not only the historical setting but also the Vltava river - the theme of many famous songs - created the unique atmosphere of the shanty festival. The audience was charmed by colourful display of costumes, and especially by the excellent performance of shanty participants.
Shantyfest 2011 has become one of Prague´s popular music event! So come and join us at our fifth course of SHANTYFEST 2012, which will take place from June 7th to June 10th 2012 !!! The festival is held under the patronage of the chairman of the Senate of the Czech Parliament.
